DIPPED AND DOTTED

Image
Happy Monday Y'all, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was super busy per usual. Friday I ran into blogger friend Oliver of Anorexic Escapades  while shopping. It was nice to finally meet him in person and he turned out to be very sweet. You must check out his blog. It's humorous honesty at its finest! Saturday I went to lunch with @GarnerStyle and while walking to the restaurant I fell and busted my butt. Yes! BAM and BOOM right in front of a store entrance! I jumped up like I was late for work and kept it moving. It was actually quite funny but my knee hurt really bad afterwards! lol There were no scrapes or bruises so all was well enough for us to stop in a couple of stores. We had some belly aching laughs in Lane Bryant! lol I love that girl! Any who...on to the outfit. I thrifted this awesome blouse a few weeks ago and it paired perfectly with my dotted silk skirt. I guess it turned out so fresh and so clean clean because I received so many compliments. I decide

DIPPED HEM

Image
This is a halter style dress but I would never wear it on its own because I am not comfortable showing that much skin. Funny thing about my previous statement is that now I will never have to consider wearing it on its own since I burned a part of the top while ironing it today!! Can you believe it??!! I've had this dress for almost a year and the 1st time I decide to wear it, I burn it!! smh I may just cut the top portion off, add some elastic and make it a skirt. I guess it really doesn't matter since I would always wear something over it anyway! Have you ever ruined anything with the iron?    Dress: Asos Curve Jacket: Lane Bryant Earrings and Bracelet: Vintage Sunnies: Jessica Simpson Shoes: Nine West Watch: Michael Kors I love the length and the huge pockets! MY DRESS LOVE

Image
I really dig dresses! Basically they are the no fuss approach to dressing because there is no mixing and matching involved. You pretty much have a complete outfit on one hanger!! I know this is totally cheating fashion creativity but with my busy schedule (work, blog, wife, mom, maid, nagger, etc.) they have become the greatest invention ever! Also, during the warmer months I like to stay as cool as possible (I'm warm blooded by nature) by wearing light weight fabrics and dresses help accomplish that. Throw on some cute accessories and you are all set! Speaking of accessories, I am certain that I would die without my sunnies! Sunnies are a West Coast necessary staple. You absolutely can't leave the house without a pair, especially if you're driving because the sun will blind you! Being that I'm a West Coast chic through and through, I always throw on a pair of sunnies in the spring/summer to complete my look. In case you didn't know..."sunnies" are what

FORMLESS TO FLATTERING

Image
Like most women, I have my "fat" days. You know, those days when you feel like an orca whale? Well today was one of those days! When I have these "fat" days I like to wear what I call "formless" dresses or tops. Formless means just that...formless (think garbage bag). I chose to pair a cropped blazer with my garbage bag dress and voila! Suddenly, I have a waistline! Yep, doing something this simple can take a formless dress/top and make it flattering. Go right on ahead girls and feel free to try this on one of your "fat" days! LOL Dress: Calvin Klein Blazer: Lane Bryant Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell I want to close by saying "THANK YOU" to all of my followers. Your encouragement gives me the motivation to keep doing this. Please know that I don't take any of your support for granted! I am so blessed!  With Love, Kiah

BIRDS AND SUNSHINE

Image
When my friend Chastity of The Curvy Girl's Guide to Style  featured the Jibri 2012 spring line on her blog, I fell in love with this skirt! Having never ordered from Jibri, I was a bit nervous about the fit and quality but decided to take a chance. I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase! I absolutely LOVE this skirt! The fit is perfect and the quality is superb. You've got to try this line. All items are made from scratch so the turn time is about 3 weeks but it is totally worth the wait! You can view the spring collection and purchase at  Jibri Online . Skirt: Jibri Blouse: Daniel Rainn Necklace and Earrings: Lane Bryant Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Sunnies: Armani Exchange Handbag: B. Makowsky p.s. it just so happened that Chastity and I fell in love with the exact same skirt! You can see how she rocked it here . btw - if you are not following her then you must! With Love, Kiah **update** I've seen a few comments stating that m

MY LEOPARD ATE THE RAINBOW!

Image
Those of you that have been following my blog know that I am a lover of ANY and ALL things animal print. I have even joked that I would wear a squirrel if it was cute! lol In my opinion animal print is an all season "GO"! You can rock it with darker shades like navy, red or purple in the colder months and then with pastels or neons in the spring/summer months. Today I decided to play a game of Russian roulette with the color wheel and it sort of looks like my leopard ate the rainbow and regurgitated this outfit! LOL Skirt: Jones New York Shirt: Hubby's Hat: Asos Shoes: Jessica Simpson Necklace: LA Lynn's Earrings: David Yurman Bracelet: idk (lol) Lipstick: M.A.C. Lady Danger Do you rock animal print all year round? With LOVE, Kiah p.s. I will not be posting anything over the weekend in observance of the Easter Holiday. Tonight my Jesus is having The Last Supper with His disciples then He will be betrayed and arrested. Tom

FLORAL PEPLUM

Image
In a previous post I listed 6 trends for spring, one of them being the peplum. Everyone is not a fan of the peplum because they concentrate on the hip enhancement which is deemed a big "no no" for the plus size woman. I however choose to focus on the wonderful waist cinching the peplum accomplishes. If you ask me, the peplum is perfect for the plus size woman because it gives the appearance of an hour glass shape.  Peplum Jacket: Thrifted Skirt and Belt: Lane Bryant Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Handbag: B. Makowsky What is your take on the peplum? With LOVE, Kiah
